No no, please no!
Okay, I understand why you...NO! No no, please no!

Okay, I understand why you wouldn't like rats. They have such a horrible reputation all around the world. And sometimes, I admit, wild rats and mice can do a little damage, especially those that are either A) really hungry, B) carrying some disease, or C) both. And that's fine.

But please, I beg you, don't write them off all together. Rats can also be the most intelligent and affectionate animals! I'm a rat owner, which 3-4 years ago would never have happened. I hated them like everyone else and was really, really afraid. In my senior year of college, though, I had to work with them for a behavioral study, and fell in love with them. I brought one home, and my parents (who were initially more anti-rat than you could possible imagine) fell in love with him too.

I have 3 now, and my oldest can play tag with me. He loves sitting on my lap and being scratched. Sometimes he watches TV. And he knows his name. He's such a joy. It will be one of the worst days when God takes him after his long and happy life.

I'm amazed that I was so repulsed by these amazing, intelligent creatures for so long. They've made me so happy, and they've made me laugh countless times (last week Fatty stole a dollar from my purse so that he could sleep on it). They're fantastic little furballs!Drinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15594985732345123419noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8242030.post-1099131936194933772004-10-30T18:25:00.000+08:002004-10-30T18:25:00.000+08:00Ergh.
